  1. How to peel ginger ?

Do you hate to peel ginger?? There is always an easier way !!

If you are using small knife or peeler to peel skin off, then you are troubling yourself. You just need a spoon and should know how to scoop. I often wash really well and grate along with the skin.

  2. How to cut onion without crying?

If you wonder is there a way to make it stop? May be,

    • The first tip is to sharpen the knife really well.

    • My grandma keeps the salt jar open next to her while chopping onions, you can try that too.

    • Refrigerating the onions, or washing the peeled onion in cold water dilutes the acid which causes the crying.

  3. How to store cilantro/coriander leaves fresh ?

Are you tired of storing the cilantro fresh all week long? Here is an idea !!

The only I store is by placing the cilantro in a jar filled with water (Covered until the stem part) and place it in the refrigerator. That will keep them fresh longer for a couple of weeks. I prefer this way. If you prefer to keep them in jar, try to change water every couple of days. If you find the leaves wilting, change water and cut a little bit of stem from the bottom. This way it will stay fresh even for 2 to 3 weeks long

  4. How to use soured milk?

If you ever experience a condition at home where you have milk which becomes sour or exceeds the 'Best Before' Dates. Don't throw it right away. There are so many ways you can use the soured milk.

Make Homemade paneer (Indian Cottage cheese)

    Make Rasagulla or Rasmalai :)

It can used as a substitute to any dish where buttermilk is asked for.

    Make Custard Pudding

  5. How to store Green chilli’s longer?

I love using green chilli’s but it was very expensive in the small town I first lived here in USA a decade ago. I discovered that freezing the green chillies in the plastic bag or a ziploc bag preserved it for longer. I have store for months together. It was a revelation for me. I was sick and tired of seeing wilted and 1 or 2 green chillies spoiling the whole batch. Wash, towel dry and stuck them in the bag. They are also super easy to mince or cut right out the freezer.
