Virgin Margarita

Margarita is actually a cocktail drink made with alcohol :P, but virgin margarita is available is many restaurants and they server a duplicate / alcohol-free version. The very first time i had this was in Oxford book house at chennai where my brother usually goes to read books and I tag along with him just to have this drink. They actually served Cranberry flavor and it was called

'Lady in Red'

I love this drink for its sweet tangy flavor and especially the salt/sugar coating around the edge of the glass, Yum !!! :D

Preparation time: 5 mins

Servers : 5 -6

INGREDIENTS:

  • Frozen Limeade concentrate - 1 tin (If you dont have, squeeze 4-5 lime and add sugar syrup to it and freeze it, I will soon upload a recipe to make frozen limeade)
  • Orange - 1 - 1 1/2
  • Lemon - 1
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp (Use fine sugar so that it can be easily dissolved in cold water)
  • salt - to taste
  • crushed Ice cubes - 2 trays full

DIRECTION:

This is actually very simple, in a large pitcher / vessel and add frozen limeade, and to that squeeze in lemon and Orange juice, then add salt and sugar and stir well until sugar is dissolved completely.

Then add in the crushed ice cubes and stir well for at least 10 - 15 seconds.

Take a serving glass coat the rim with lemon juice and dip it in sugar/salt so that edges are covered nicely and place a thin slice of Orange / Lime to that and serve it chilli

Note:

If you want it to have like slush, crush the ice cubes completely and add in a small portion of the cocktail mix and eat it as a slush
