Masala Chaas (Spiced Butter Milk)
My Husband Loves Dairy and all Dairy products. So When i make some fresh butter milk or If the curd is little sour i make this for my husband. He usually asks for buttermilk after he comes home from playing :)
It is so very refreshing during summer and really keeps you hydrated. I like to spice up my drink it is so very delicious & you can go make it right away. Because you will have all the ingredients already in your kitchen pantry :)
Typical buttermilk is the left over milk while churning butter. But generally it is made by churning curd and diluting it.
Preparation time: 5 mins
Serves : 2 cups
INGREDIENTS:
- Buttermilk - 500 ml (2 cups)
- salt - to taste
To grind:
- Green chilli - 1 small
- coriander leaves - few strands
- cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
- fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Hing - a generous pinch
- Minced ginger - 1/4 tsp
DIRECTION
In a bowl add salt to buttermilk and mix well. Meanwhile using a Mortar and pestle ( Hand spice grinder) Mash the ingredients mentioned
Add them to the butter milk and stir well. Serve chill and Enjoy !! :)
